Job summary

The YMCA of Indiana County is seeking a dependable, hardworking Part-Time Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members, participants, and staff.

Under the direction of the Lead Custodian, this position handles daily cleaning, sanitation, and upkeep of facilities and grounds on an evening/night schedule (~20 hours per week).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the shift.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to work evenings/nights part-time shift.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, fitness areas, classrooms, offices, and common spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect floors, furniture, and equipment.
• Perform floor care including stripping, waxing, buffing, scrubbing, and carpet extraction.
• Set up and tear down rooms for meetings, programs, and special events.
• Report maintenance concerns and facility repairs.
• Follow YMCA safety policies and proper chemical handling procedures.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
• Perform other custodial and facility-related duties as assigned.
