Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Collect, classify, sort, store, ship, receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Communicate with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortages.
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems and the environment.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience: No specific education requirement; 3-6 months training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificates, licenses, or registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license, completed all safety and task training certification, and forklift certification.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; willingness to share with team.
• Knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Frequently required to sit and talk or listen.

Compensation & Shift

Wednesday to Sunday, 3:30 pm - 12:00 am. Sat and Sun schedules change. Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 USD hourly.
