Job Overview
The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
- Collect, classify, sort, store, ship, receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
- Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
- Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
- Perform repetitive tasks.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
- Take direction and respond to supervision.
- Communicate with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
- Fill in during staff shortages.
- Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
- Use proper personal protective equipment.
- Present a professional appearance and conduct.
- Understand customer service and satisfaction.
- Understand reporting systems and the environment.
Qualifications
- Education and/or experience: No specific education requirement; 3-6 months training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificates, licenses, or registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license, completed all safety and task training certification, and forklift certification.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; willingness to share with team.
- Knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Frequently required to sit and talk or listen.
Compensation & Shift
Wednesday to Sunday, 3:30 pm - 12:00 am. Sat and Sun schedules change. Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 USD hourly.
