Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking a Custodian - Level 2 at Highlands Ranch High School to supervise custodial operations in the absence of the Group Leader and coordinate coverage for feeder groups. Job Description

In the absence of the Group Leader, supervises overall operations of custodial services at multiple sites, including in District and Contract Custodial Services. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community members and school clientele.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequent lifting five (5) to fifty (50) pounds
  • Occasional lifting fifty (50) to one hundred (100) pounds
  • Frequent extensive walking, bending, standing, reaching, stooping
  • Occasional climbing, kneeling, squatting
Position Specific Information (if Applicable)

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate substitute coverage for absences in the Feeder Group area.
  • Monitor Contracted and district personnel.
  • Submit accurate and necessary work orders
  • Respond to all calls from staff in the absence of Group Leader.
  • Monitor supplies and budget for feeder area.
  • Complete inspections and reports in a timely manner.
  • Assume the role of leadership in the absence of the Group Leader.
  • Supervise the overall operations of Custodial Services at multiple sites, including district and contract custodial services in the absence of the Group Leader.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Assist all emergency operations personnel as required.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of facility operations including electrical, gas/water controls, and Heating and Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and related equipment.
  • Support all District Sustainability Policies.
  • In the absence of the Group Leader, ensure a clean Facility by completing all tasks outlined in the current Custodial Cleaning Specifications.
  • Ensure all snow and ice is removed from walkways and other areas.
  • Support feeder area Building Engineers and their evaluating Supervisors.
  • Perform minor maintenance duties including general maintenance, preventive maintenance and minor plumbing maintenance to ensure a maintained building.
  • Ensure the general security of buildings, including closing and locking doors and windows.
  • Perform maintenance, cleaning and setup requests within Custodial responsibilities generated by staff in a timely and professional manner.

Scheduled Hours Per Week: 40 FTE: 1.00 Approx Scheduled Days Per Year: 260 Work Days (260 days indicates a year-round position. Time off [or Off-Track Days] are then granted based on the position. Any exceptions to the normal off-track time will be noted in the Additional Position Details section above, as scheduled work days.)

Minimum Hire Rate: $22.74 USD Hourly Maximum Hire Rate: $29.73 USD Hourly Full Salary Range: $22.74 USD - $36.71 USD Hourly All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
