Job summary

The Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a Custodian II at Franklin Middle School. Shift runs 2:20pm to 10:50pm. Salary is $21.13 per hour. Duties include general cleaning, light fixture maintenance, yard work, snow removal, and helping with supplies and event setups.

Candidate must have knowledge of cleaning methods, ability to perform minor repairs, good communication skills, and a valid Iowa driver’s license. Ability to work in adverse weather and pass required tests is required.

• Assist with receiving and storing supplies for cafeteria.
• Move and arrange furniture for school events; assist with other duties as requested.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Under the supervision of the Building Engineer, you are responsible for the following:
• General cleaning, such as sweeping, cleaning of carpets and blinds, emptying of waste receptacles, cleaning toilet facilities and filling of dispensers
• Clean light fixtures and replace bulbs
• Do yard works such as mowing, trimming, general cleanup and marking athletic fields
• Keep walks and entries clear of ice and snow
• Help with receiving and storing supplies for the building cafeteria
• Move and arrange furniture for school functions
• Carry out additional requests of building principal and engineer, as needed
• Other duties may be assigned
