Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission in Denton seeks a Custodian II to perform routine and specialized custodial tasks across assigned locations. The role supports patient/resident wellness by maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

You will clean offices and living areas, operate floor-care equipment, restock supplies, and report maintenance needs. The position may require overtime and weekend hours and offers telework eligibility per agency policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Paid work experience in any field acceptable.
• Unpaid housekeeping/custodial experience acceptable.
• Six months custodial or environmental services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs custodial tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting and cleaning as per procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes floors, restrooms, bedrooms, nurses’ stations and isolation areas.
• Operates floor care equipment (stripper, buffers, vacuums, extractors).
• Inspects buildings and equipment for cleanliness and needed repairs.
• Trains and coaches other custodians as needed and documents trainings.
• Maintains inventory and equipment records and handles waste removal.
