Job summary

University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA, is seeking a custodial staff member for the second shift (3:00 pm–11:30 pm). Under direct supervision, you will perform custodial duties for building maintenance, including lifting, changing bulbs, snow removal, and reporting repairs.

Prior cleaning experience is preferred and the role starts at $18.76 per hour with a $1.25 shift differential. The successful candidate will read, write, and follow directions, and contribute to a clean and safe

Job Description

Under direct supervision, performs custodial duties necessary for the general maintenance of buildings which involve tasks that require carrying, lifting, bending; empties trash and recycling; changes light bulbs in assigned areas using stepladder; shovels snow and spreads ice melt to maintain building entrances; reports needed repairs by completing repair slips; fills out order forms for requesting cleaning materials, supplies, etc.; locks and unlocks doors; operates machines to facilitate cleaning activities; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Ability to read, write, and follow directions. Prior cleaning experience preferred.
