Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a dependable custodian to join our facilities team in Michigan. You will perform cleaning duties, operate floor care equipment, stock restrooms, and assist with event setup and light maintenance.

This role requires passing a drug test and physical, standing for long periods, and maintaining punctual attendance. The position emphasizes reliable, consistent performance with adherence to approved cleaning methods and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 1 year of custodial/janitorial experience.
• Must pass a drug test and physical.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Punctual, regular, & consistent attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Report to Team Lead/Custodian Supervisor.
• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for facility.
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping/mopping.
• Operate floor equipment such as auto scrubber, side-by-side, carpet extractor, and vacuum.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• General cleaning of furniture, windows, window sills, and walls.
• Stocking restrooms, janitorial closet, and break room.
• Setting up and cleaning after events.
• Light building maintenance.
• General snow removal/lawn care as needed.
• Arm alarm/check all outer doors to make sure they are secure.
• Computer knowledge.

Hours: 1:30 - 10:00pm (includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
