Job summary

County College of Morris is seeking a Custodian I (Evening) to perform cleaning duties across campus facilities. The role includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, changing light bulbs, and restroom maintenance, with duties extending to entrances and exterior areas.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (desirable) and 0-6 months custodial experience. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 5:00 pm–1:30 am, with duties that include event setup and snow/ice removal as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency desirable.
• 0-6 months experience in custodial maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of routine cleaning duties in campus buildings, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and light bulb changes.
• Maintains restrooms by cleaning walls, sinks, fixtures, toilets and mirrors; replenishes towels, tissues and soap.
• Empties garbage and handles recycling as needed; cleans entrances and exterior areas.
• Cleans glass on entrance doors; patrols areas around buildings for litter.
• Supports day custodial staff with event setup and college activities; processes work orders from the Custodial Supervisor.
• Clears snow and ice from entrances, walkways, patios and steps; shovels or sweeps areas and applies calcium chloride.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
