Job summary

California Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero is seeking a Custodian I to join the General Services team. The role reports to the Custodian Supervisor I and focuses on maintaining a safe, clean hospital environment in accordance with Hospital Standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include supporting infection control, coordinating with staff, and applying Therapeutic Strategies and Interventions (TSI) to maintain a respectful, secure setting for patients and personnel.

Qualifications

• Applies and demonstrates knowledge of correct methods in Therapeutic Strategies and Interventions (TSI).
• Assist in the maintenance of a safe and secure environment through response to physical assaults, escape attempts or other major patient disturbance, and assist in the management of the conduct of the patients.

Job Description And Duties

The Custodian I (Safety) will be directed by the Custodian Supervisor I in General Services at the Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:

• Must have sufficient physical agility to perform assigned duties.
