Job summary

State of Nebraska in Kearney, NE is hiring for an entry-level to semi-skilled custodial/housekeeping role. Work is labor-intensive, with supervision, and includes a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule for full-time employment.

Wages start at $16.892 per hour plus a $3 shift differential to reach about $19.892 per hour, with a $200 monthly commute bonus and medical/dental/vision coverage for you and your family. Benefits are part of the total compensation package.

Job Description

This is work as an entry-level to semi-skilled custodial/janitorial or housekeeper. Work is typically labor intensive and requires close to general supervision in the areas of custodial/housekeeping work.

Hours: 7am-3:30pm, Full-Time, days off discussed in interview, work every other holiday.
Wages: $16.892 + $3/hr shift differential = $19.892 per hour, while working
Commute bonus $200 monthly with commutes of 30 or more miles.

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: No specific education, training, or experience is required for entry to this class. Must be 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge and cleaning experience in commercial business, hospital, medical building or long term care facility.

General cleaning of member rooms, offices, and rest rooms,, public access rooms, floors, various areas and surface types, including cleaning and maintenance of hallways, solariums and public areas. Follow standards and procedures to ensure assigned areas are cleaned to provide a clean, sanitary, aesthetically pleasing environment for guest, staff and members. Use proper cleaning agents. Read and follow label directions. Work safely to ensure your safety and the safety of others. Prevent accidents by use of wet floor signs, drying wet floors, being mindful of electrical cords. Collect and dispose of trash properly.
