I. POSITION PURPOSE

Performs all duties related to maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the school and parish buildings and grounds.

II. Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for ensuring the school building is cleaned and sanitized regularly, including classrooms, bathrooms, and common areas throughout the day.
• Provides minor maintenance services to the school building and grounds, including cleaning and minor repairs of other campus facilities as requested.
• Maintains the playground in a safe and clean condition.
• Ensures proper collection and disposal of garbage.
• Provides general assistance as needed, such as setting up chairs and tables, hauling/moving items, and picking up parts or equipment as requested by staff.
• Communicates inventory and supply needs to the Facilities Supervisor for ordering.
• Sets up for special events, including chairs, tables, and equipment.
• Performs annual maintenance tasks as identified.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

III. Requirements

• Previous experience in custodial services is preferred.
• Must pass a background check upon hire.
• High attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

To perform the essential duties, an individual must be able to:

• Lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly bend, lift, stretch, and reach both below the waist and above the head.
• Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with up to 100 pounds during site visits.
• Engage in manual dexterity with both hands and wrists.
• Walk frequently within the facility.
• Climb ladders and gangways safely.
• Demonstrate eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.
• Stand and walk for up to 8 hours.

Salary is determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant’s skills, experience, degrees, and certifications.
