Job summary

4000 Archdiocese Of Seattle Payroll Svc is seeking a dedicated janitorial associate to maintain the Parish buildings. Responsibilities include daily cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, floors, surfaces, and high-contact areas; restocking supplies; operating vacuums, buffers, and other cleaning equipment; and reporting any hazards or incidents.

The role requires physical fitness, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a valid Washington driver’s license for occasional building coverage.

• Comfort with handling cleaning chemicals per training.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms daily, including fixtures and floors.
• Restock dispensers and clean high-contact surfaces.
• Vacuum carpets and clean hard floors; perform floor care as needed.
• Operate vacuums, buffers, steam cleaners, and related equipment.
• Report hazards or incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with building coverage as needed and follow event schedules.

Job description

POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for the cleaning, sanitation, safety, and security of the Parish building assigned to them.All restrooms are cleaned and sanitized daily including sinks, toilets, urinals, floors, walls, counters and mirrors. Dispensers are restocked daily, and floor drains are inspected and serviced as needed.Carpeted floors are vacuumed and hard surface floors are cleaned daily. Carpets are Hot-water extracted and hard surface floors are auto scrubbed as needed.All furniture is cleaned, sanitized and repositioned daily.All windows are cleaned as needed.All high contact items such as door handles.All trash cans are emptied, cleaned, and relined daily.Paper and cardboard are recycled daily.Inventory levels are inventoried and properly stocked for both hospitality and cleaning supplies.Provide service and support for individuals and groups using parish facilities.Dust all areas and detail clean all floor edges as needed.Lights are turned off in all unoccupied areas.Interior doors are kept locked in all unoccupied rooms.Exterior doors are inspected and locked per daily event schedule.All suspicious activities / incidents are reported to the police.Apply first aid / call 9-1-1 for all medical emergenciesThis position requires operation of motorized equipment including vacuums, buffers, steam cleaning machines, blowers, and other related equipment.This position requires the use of non-motorized tools such as brooms, mops, and shovels.This position requires the proper handling and application of chemicals, and knowledge of correct mixing ratios. (Training available)This position requires safe handling and disposal of bodily fluids and blood borne pathogens.This position requires prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lying down, heavy lifting, work in confined spaces, and extreme heights.This position requires the use of personal protective equipment such as respirators and masks.This position maybe asked to respond to non-shift, after hour emergencies such as snow removal or other emergencies.This position is required to substitute in other buildings for teammates who may be absent or on vacation.This position requires a valid Washington State Driver’s License, the ability to lift at least 50 pounds, completion of an Archdiocese of Seattle Background Investigation, and other duties as assigned.Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.Benefits: Eligible positions receive a comprehensive package of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, accidental death and disability, long term disability, pension, 403(b), HSA, FSA, and generous sick leave, vacation and holidays.
