Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance in Honolulu is seeking a Custodial/Housekeeping team member for a 40-hour work week at the Manoa location. The role pays 18.00 USD per hour and includes benefits such as health plan, vacation pay, and 401(k).

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum and operate outdoor cleaning tools.
• Schedule: Wed to Sun, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; Days off Wed & Sun? (as per posting).

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to stand and walk for extended period throughout the work shift.
• Willingness to work all weather conditions
• Maintain cleanliness in common areas such as: Ground floor, lobby front desk, vending area corridors, lounges kitchen/dining area, laundry room, utility rooms, elevators, restrooms, offices, stairwells, ramps, benches, planters, sidewalks, landscape areas around the building perimeter, bicycle shed, landing areas, janitorial closets, and driveway/parking lot.

• Sweep, dust, mop, vacuum for indoor cleaning, and use a handheld leaf blower for outdoor areas
• Clean restrooms and restock supplies
• Disinfect frequently touched surfaces

• Push trash bins as needed
• Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Days off: Monday and Tuesday)

Skills / Qualifications

• Must pass HBM prescreen check
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Previous janitorial or custodian experience is preferred; we are willing to train.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong public relations and communication skills
• Applicants should be capable of performing basic manual labor, cleaning common areas, and frequently lifting, pushing, pressing, pulling, and carrying a minimum of 30 lbs. (up to 50 lbs.).
• Applicants must also be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk up and down stairs, use elevators, climb ladders, and stand throughout their shifts.
