Reports To

Custodial Supervisor

Performance Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes floors, walls, and furniture to meet sanitary regulations and improve appearance.
• Maintains restroom cleanliness using various chemicals and supplies.
• Scrubs, mops, waxes, and polishes floors.
• Removes refuse daily to ensure cleanliness.
• Moves and arranges furniture for efficiency and comfort.
• Removes snow from steps and sidewalks.
• Reports repairs needed to prevent further expenses.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Washes walls, woodwork, ceilings, and windows.

Additional Duties

• Assist in training entry-level custodians.
• Handle challenges such as removing stains or cleaning during high occupancy.
• Decide on cleaning supplies and adjust work schedules accordingly.
• Maintain contact with supervisor and staff for duties and cleaning needs.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, including ladders.
• Performance is evaluated through inspections and schedule reviews.

Terms and Evaluation

Twelve-month employment, salary and benefits as per the Board of Education. Performance reviews follow Board policy.
