Job summary

Brightpoint in DeKalb County is seeking a Head Start Custodian to keep our facilities clean and safe across sites. You will maintain building and playground cleanliness, perform minor maintenance, and support daily operations with reliability and attention to detail.

A valid Indiana driver’s license is required for occasional site travel, and First Aid/CPR training must be completed within 12 months of employment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of custodial work/building maintenance preferred.
• Must become First Aid and CPR qualified within twelve months of employment.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and liability insurance requirements for driving on Brightpoint business.

Job Duties

• Maintain cleanliness of building internally at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness of playground area at all times.
• Perform minor building maintenance and repairs, both at home site and other Head Start sites as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience working in the area of custodial work and/or building maintenance preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, self‑motivated, attentive to detail, organized, cooperative, productive, reliable, flexible and dependable.
• Must become First Aid and CPR qualified within twelve (12) months of employment.
• When driving for Brightpoint, the employee must have a valid Indiana driver's license and maintain minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 on auto insurance.
