Sylvania is seeking a full-time Custodian to serve at Allegan Elementary School, starting with the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves various custodial duties such as cleaning, setting up school spaces, and performing light maintenance. Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and the ability to work well with others.
The position offers paid time off, health benefits, and retirement benefits through the Michigan Public School Employees' Retirement Program.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. The employee must be able to push items of 50 lbs., such as pushing equipment, or moving/rearranging furniture. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Position starts with the 2026-2027 school year, Monday through Friday, 8 Hours/Day (6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), 40 Hours/Week, 52 Weeks/Year. Occasional extra work hours are available during week and/or weekend.
