A local educational institution in Allegan Township is seeking a part-time Custodian to manage various cleaning and maintenance tasks across the school facilities. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, and should be able to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents. This position offers paid time off, holiday pay, and a retirement benefits program, while requiring commitment Monday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

CUSTODIAN - PART TIME - HIGH SCHOOL

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Custodial duties include all phases of commercial cleaning
• Setup and tear down of various school spaces (cafeteria, gymnasium, classrooms, pool etc.)
• Light maintenance duties and security responsibilities throughout the building.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. The employee must be able to push items of 50 lbs., such as pushing equipment, or moving/rearranging furniture. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Monday through Friday, 5 Hours/Day (6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.), 25 Hours/Week, 52 Weeks/Year. Occasional extra work hours are available during week and/or weekend.

BENEFITS

Paid time off, paid holidays, shoe allowance (prorated on hours worked), and excellent retirement benefits through the Michigan Public School Employees' Retirement Program. This position does not offer health benefits.
