The custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and orderliness of Zoo facilities by performing cleaning tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation, often using specialized cleaning equipment and chemicals, to ensure a hygienic and functional environment for occupants; they may also perform minor maintenance tasks as needed.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Custodial Manager.
Full-time positions are defined as approximately up to 40 hours per week. Scheduling is at the discretion of the manager and may require flexible hours including weekdays, holidays, weekends, early mornings, daytime, and evening hours to cover Zoo hours of operation and events.
This position is non-exempt under federal and state wage and hour laws.
The physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching, with occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
