Job summary

St. John’s Lutheran School in Marysville, Ohio, is seeking a dedicated custodian to maintain clean, safe church and school facilities. You will report to the Facilities Manager and perform daily cleaning tasks across classrooms, cafeteria, gym, and office spaces.

Requirements include a high school or trade school diploma (preferred), valid driver's license, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and background checks (BCI/FBI). This is a full-time, on-site position with immediate starting date.

Job Description

Custodian Job Description: To serve the church/school by providing custodial services to the church/school buildings. This position currently reports to the Facilities Manager.

Duties of employee:

Daily Activities for Classrooms, Cafeteria, Gym, Trailers & School Office

• Vacuum & Mop floors- daily
• Empty trash- daily
• Dusting- as needed
• Windows- as needed

Daily Activities for Library

• Dusting- as needed
• Vacuum- daily
• Empty trash- daily

Daily Activities for Main Hallway

• Vacuum & mop floors- daily
• Dusting- as needed
• Windows- as needed

Daily Activities for bathrooms:

Main, Workroom, Hallway, Downstairs, Lisa Room, Alex Room

• Mop floors- daily
• Empty trash- daily
• Clean/disinfect toilets- daily
• Replace paper products- daily

Qualifications: Hold a minimum of a high school diploma or Graduate Equivalent Degree (GED)

Be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Successful candidates must complete and pass the required BCI II/FBI background check.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use their hands, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
