Role and Responsibilities:

We seek a reliable, detail-oriented Custodian/Floor Technician to ensure a clean and safe environment. Responsibilities include:

1. Work with a team that includes adults with disabilities, fostering a positive environment.
2. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain clean floors and restrooms.
3. Manage trash and recycling bins, keeping the space neat.
4. Clean, wax, and restore hard-surface floors and carpets using appropriate equipment.
5. Operate and maintain floor care machinery like buffers and scrubbers; perform basic repairs.
6. Set up safety barriers and report defective equipment.
7. Assist with inventory and supplies management.
8. Greet customers and ensure cleanliness and safety.
9. Lift/move heavy equipment, read chemical labels, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience in floor care and janitorial services.
• Familiarity with waxing, stripping, and buffing techniques.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate floor care machinery safely and follow instructions.

Preferred Skills:

• Certification or training in floor care or janitorial services.
• Experience with various floor types and cleaning methods.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA guidelines.
• Attention to detail and quality focus.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical & Environmental Demands:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long periods.
• Lift/move equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, and use of cleaning equipment.
• Operate machinery and handle chemicals safely.
• Work in various settings with different temperatures and lighting.
• Climb ladders or stools for high cleaning tasks.
