Job summary

Allied Services is seeking a dedicated custodian to support a federal contract. Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, and in conjunction with the Contract Manager, you will perform routine cleaning tasks and help ensure the project’s requirements are met.

The position requires a high school diploma (preferred) and at least one year of janitorial experience, with ability to operate all custodial machines and equipment to clean floors, bathrooms, and common areas.

Brief Description

Among the requirements for a nonprofit agency to participate in this contract 75 percent of its total direct labor hours must be performed by people who are blind or severely disabled. To fulfill this and other compliance requirements successfully, nonprofit agency personnel must fully understand the Committee’s definitions of blind and severely disabled and the Committee’s requirements for documentation of those individuals who are being counted towards the direct labor ratio.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, and in conjunction with the Contract Manager, and or the Project Manager, the custodian works towards fulfillment of the federal contract.

EDUCATION

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE

One Year Experience With Janitorial Required.

Must be able to operate all custodial related machines and equipment.

• 18% Dry and wet mops hard floors. (E)
• 15% Vacuums, spot cleans, or shampoos carpets when assigned. (E)
• 15% Uses floor machines, automatic scrubbers, wall-washing equipment, waste collecting equipment, etc. (E)
• 10% Collects and transports refuse; cleans and relines refuse containers with plastic bags. (E)
• 10% Operate equipment
• 7% Strips or scrubs and refinishes floors when assigned. (NE)
• 5% Cleans sinks, tubs, showers and toilets. Polishes bright work and cleans mirrors. Empties trash, sweeps and mops floors with disinfectant cleaner. Replaces all paper and soap supplies. (E)
• 5% Dusts, cleans, and polishes furniture including beds, dressers, and lamps. (E)
• 5% Cleans top of windows, door frames and other high places. (E)
• 5% Polishes stainless steel and other bright work. Cleans glass. (E)
