Job summary

Parkway School District is seeking an evening shift Custodian to support a clean, safe school environment at West Middle School. The role runs year-round, 8 hours per day, with non-exempt status and a starting pay of $17.50/hr, based on verifiable experience.

Open from 6/3/2026 to 9/2/2026, the position emphasizes reliability, teamwork with teachers and staff, and the ability to perform physical custodial tasks in a busy school setting.

Qualifications

• Proven stable employment history, excellent attendance record and motivation to consistently perform quality work.
• Willingness to follow written, verbal and demonstrated instructions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work harmoniously with teachers and staff.
• Demonstrated customer service orientation.
• Mobility to move in and around the school to perform work assignments; able to lift up to 50 pounds; and able to climb ladders up to 8 feet.
• Able to understand and communicate in English for basic job-related duties and response for safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of custodial functions maintaining a clean, healthy, and safe work environment.
• Maintain floors through vacuuming, wet mopping, cleaning, and stocking bathrooms.
• Extract various floor surfaces and manage trash; dust and mop as needed.
• Move furniture or miscellaneous equipment as required to complete tasks.

Essential Job Functions

Perform a variety of custodial functions that will maintain a clean, healthy, and safe work environment including maintaining floors; vacuuming, wet mopping, cleaning, and stocking bathrooms; extracting of various floor surfaces; emptying and disposing of trash, dusting, mopping; and moving furniture/miscellaneous equipment as needed.
