Job summary

Parkway School District in Missouri is seeking a Head Custodian III for Wren Hollow Elementary. The role oversees up to two custodians, assigns tasks, reviews performance, and ensures cleanliness and safety across facilities.

The position requires custodial supervisory experience, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to lift 50 lbs and operate cleaning equipment. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Prefer 3+ years custodial supervisory experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of personnel.
• Extensive walking, standing and bending during shift; ability to lift 50 pounds and use 10-pound Backpack vacuum.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to understand and communicate in English for basic job-related duties and safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee work of up to two custodians, assign tasks, review performance, and provide feedback to staff.
• Sanitize restrooms, mop, vacuum, scrub floors and other hard surface flooring, dust furniture, windows, doors and related furnishings.
• Move furniture, monitor attendance, and lock and secure all doors.

12 Month Calendar; 8 Hour Shift

Status: Non-Exempt

Closing Date: 9/16/2026

Hours: 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm

Essential Job Functions

Oversee work of up to two custodians including assigning work, reviewing completed work of staff, providing feedback to staff, collecting, and reviewing performance data, training new employees, giving instruction on proper cleaning and monitoring attendance of staff. Duties also include sanitizing restrooms, mopping, vacuuming, and scrubbing floors and other hard surface flooring, cleaning, and dusting furniture, windows, doors and other related furnishings, moving furniture, crosswalk duty and locking and securing all doors.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of personnel
• Extensive walking, standing and bending responsibilities during normal shift; ability to lift 50 pounds and use 10-pound Backpack vacuum; capable of climbing ladders of up to 12 feet

• High School Diploma or GED
• Able to understand and communicate in English for basic job-related duties and response for safety
