Arc of Onondaga County is seeking dependable Custodians to join our team across Arc locations in Syracuse. You will keep facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for the people we support, staff, and visitors.

The role involves cleaning offices, bathrooms, dining areas, and outdoor spaces, operating cleaning equipment, and following safety procedures. We value reliability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of commercial cleaning and maintenance procedures.
• Experience in commercial housekeeping and maintenance for offices, bathrooms, dining areas, clinical facilities, and general-use areas.
• Ability to travel to and from the primary assigned worksite independently.
• Ability to maintain all required certifications and/or licenses.
• Ability to safely lift, move, and handle equipment, supplies, and furniture.
• Knowledge of safety requirements and proper procedures for using cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect offices, bathrooms, dining areas, clinical facilities, and other spaces.
• Dust, mop, sweep, and vacuum floors and surfaces.
• Empty and remove trash and recycling.
• Maintain outdoor walkways, entrances, and surrounding areas.
• Move furniture and assist with room setups as needed.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and use chemicals properly.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the Custodial Supervisor.
• Work independently while upholding high cleanliness and safety standards.
