Job summary

Smokey Mountain Elementary is seeking a Custodian & Bus Driver to join our team. The role covers general custodial tasks, site security, and driving bus routes as needed, with a 40-hour work week.

The position is non-exempt and employment is typically for 12 months, with benefits available. High school graduate and willingness to obtain a bus license are preferred requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; custodial experience preferred.
• Bus license required or willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial duties such as cleaning, sweeping, mopping and dusting.
• Operate floor scrubbers and related equipment as needed.
• Assist with bus routes and after-hours facility use as required.

Job Details

Term of Employment: Non‑Exempt; 12 months; 40 hours per week

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent and experience in custodial work preferred; school bus license required or willingness and qualified to obtain bus license.

Duties: General custodial duties including, but not limited to cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, mowing, lifting, climbing, etc.; experience with equipment such as floor scrubbers preferred; security check of building; may be requested to assist with facility use after regular school hours (including nights); drive bus route as needed; additional duties as assigned by school principal and/or superintendent.
