Job summary

Jackson County Public Schools Smokey Mountain Elementary in Whittier, North Carolina, seeks a Custodian & Bus Driver. This full-time, non-exempt role covers custodial work and occasional bus driving for up to 29 hours/week. Candidates should have a high school diploma and custodial experience; a school bus license or willingness to obtain one is required.

• Additional duties as assigned by principal or superintendent.

Term of Employment: Non-Exempt; 12 months; up to 29 hours per week

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent and experience in custodial work preferred; school bus license required or willingness and qualified to obtain bus license.

Duties: General custodial duties including, but not limited to cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, mowing, lifting, climbing, etc.; experience with equipment such as floor scrubbers preferred; security check of building; may be requested to assist with facility use after regular school hours (including nights); drive bus route as needed; additional duties as assigned by school principal and/or superintendent.
