Job summary

Jackson County Public Schools Smokey Mountain Elementary in Whittier, North Carolina, seeks a Custodian & Bus Driver. This full-time, non-exempt role covers custodial work and occasional bus driving for up to 29 hours/week. Candidates should have a high school diploma and custodial experience; a school bus license or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; custodial work experience preferred.
• School bus license required or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• General custodial duties: cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, mowing, lifting, climbing.
• Experience with floor scrubbers preferred.
• Security check of the building.
• May assist with facility use after hours (including nights).
• Drive bus route as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned by principal or superintendent.
