Starguard Elite, LLC is seeking a full-time custodian/porter to support Serengeti Springs Waterpark and the Hattiesburg Zoo. The role involves daily cleaning, basic maintenance, and assisting with events to keep guest areas safe, sanitary, and presentable.

You will travel between the two sites as required, follow supervisor directions, and maintain written inspection logs. Applicants should have at least two years of custodial experience, be able to lift up to 20 lbs, and work outdoors in

• Two years of experience in cleaning a public assembly facility, theme park, zoo, waterpark, or similar environment preferred.
• Formal training in current janitorial procedures and practices preferred.
• Combination of education and experience may be evaluated.

Responsabilités

• Review assignments with Manager or Supervisor for Serengeti Springs and the Hattiesburg Zoo.
• Perform custodial tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and floor care (stripping/waxing as needed).
• Research, order, and maintain janitorial equipment and supplies; report equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Identify and report building components or areas needing repair.
• Perform minor repairs such as painting, patching, replacing light fixtures, and changing filters.
• Conduct daily inspections of assigned areas prior to meeting with Manager or Supervisor.
• Maintain a written inspection log.
• Assist other facility personnel as directed.
• Carry an operational two-way radio or pager at all times.
• Conduct pre-event inspections and maintain written checklists.
• Perform event clean-up as required.
• Ensure facilities are cleaned and vacuumed; furniture dusted; chairs and tables arranged as requested.
• Provide janitorial and porter service during events.
• Immediately report any damages resulting from events or guest activity.
• Maintain a time-management log for weekly reporting.
• Perform other duties, functions, and special projects as assigned. May run errands as needed; travel between zoo and waterpark required.

LOCATION: Primarily stationed at Serengeti Springs Waterpark and the Hattiesburg Zoo. Work may involve movement between both properties as needed.

SHIFT: Full‑time; varies based on operational needs of the waterpark and zoo. Weekends, holidays, and peak seasons require flexible and reliable scheduling. Extended hours may be necessary to meet guest and event requirements.

SUMMARY: Performs daily cleaning tasks, routine maintenance, and minor repairs. Provides porter support during events and ensures all guest‑facing and operational areas remain clean, safe, and presentable.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Work Experience

• Two years of experience in cleaning a public assembly facility, theme park, zoo, waterpark, or similar environment preferred.

• Combination of education and experience may be evaluated.

Essential Job Qualifications

• Must retain a valid Driver’s License and meet eligibility requirements to drive while conducting company business.
• Must have reliable transportation for required travel between facilities.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to read fine print such as labels.
• Ability to speak and hear clearly in person and via radio/telephone.
• Physical stamina and mobility to bend, squat, lift, reach, carry, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Manual dexterity to operate small tools.
• Ability to work in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to cleaning agents, dust, and dirt.
