Job summary

City of North Myrtle Beach is seeking a Custodian to clean and maintain City facilities and amenities, including the Aquatic and Fitness Center. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.

You will perform dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, and restroom cleaning under supervision. Shifts include Monday–Friday day hours and Thursday–Sunday nights, with a year-round, part-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial tasks to maintain clean and safe facilities.
• Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, polish, and clean offices, public areas, locker rooms, shower rooms and restrooms at the Aquatic and Fitness Center.
• Work hours up to 32 hours per week with day shifts Monday–Friday and night shifts Thursday–Sunday.
• Under supervision, complete related duties as assigned.

Job description

Under general supervision, cleans and maintains the general appearance and cleanliness of City facilities and amenities. Performs a variety of custodial tasks and duties.

High school graduate with the ability to learn and utilize new skills in the area of Custodial work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Must be physically able to operate a vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, and a copier. Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to twenty-five pounds of force frequently, and/or up to ten pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to fifty pounds.

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of custodial tasks and duties such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, and cleaning offices, public areas, locker rooms, shower rooms and restrooms at the Aquatic and Fitness Center. Work hours will be up to 32 hours per week. Work shifts will be Monday to Friday day shifts and Thursday to Sunday night shifts. This is a year round position. Performs related duties as required.
