Job summary

Collectors is seeking a detail-oriented custodian for our Jersey City, NJ office. This role is onsite five days a week, with the first shift from Tuesday through Saturday, 6am to 2:30pm. You will support Facilities and Workplace teams, perform routine cleaning, and assist with event setups.

The position emphasizes safety and sanitation, with on-site duties and collaboration across departments. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial duties: dusting, mopping, vacuuming, restrooms, restocking supplies.

• Coordinate with Facilities/Workplace to meet office needs.
• Respond to tickets and requests from other departments.
• Read and follow Chemical SDS (Safety Data Sheet).

What You’ll Do

• Perform general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks.
• Assist in setup and breakdown of events and meetings.
• Work with Facilities, Workplace, and Operations to ensure office needs are met.
• Respond to tickets and requests from other departments.
• Be able to read chemical SDS (SAFETY DATA SHEET).
• Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• Custodial experience preferred but not required.
• Can prioritize tasks given during scheduled work shift.
• Be detail-oriented with evaluating inventory of supplies.
• Have a strong attention to detail with custodial tasks including cleanliness and sanitation practices.
• Flexibility to adjust to schedule/requirement changes.

Physical Requirements

• Computer Use: Typing, mouse work, and sitting and looking at a computer potentially for long periods of time.
• Hand Use: Regular hand use for various tasks.
• Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.
• Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 25 pounds.
• Phone Answering: Talking on the phone and texting may be required, as well as manual dexterity to operate a computer and phone system efficiently.
• Sitting or Standing: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Hourly Rate

• The reasonable estimated hourly rate for this position is $19. Actual compensation varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience and skill set.

The 1st shift schedule is Tuesday through Saturday from 6am-2:30pm.

Onsite Requirement: This role requires you to be onsite in the office 5 days per week.

Location: This position is based in our Jersey City, NJ office and will report to the Senior Workplace Manager.
