Job summary

Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology - Okmulgee seeks a custodian to maintain facilities in a safe and sanitary condition. The role requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, read and follow MSDS sheets and directives, and work independently.

The schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends; essential personnel may be required during inclement weather. Compensation is $12.00 per hour with benefits as applicable.

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.

Work Schedule

Required Qualifications

• High School/GED

Education

• High School diploma or GED preferred.

(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

• Experience:
• Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
• Previous experience as a general custodian.
• Knowledge of custodial equipment and supplies.

Certifications, Registrations, And/or Licenses

Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
• Must be able to read and understand MSDS sheets and department directives.
• Ability to handle multiple work priorities simultaneously and work with minimal supervision in a highly self-motivated manner.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Position requires that employee be able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, reach, and walk up and down stairs. Must have use of all limbs.
