The IU Northwest Facilities Services maintains the physical environment and provides services to support the University in achieving excellence in education and public service. We promote well-being through an attractive, convenient environment conducive to learning, ensuring buildings and grounds are safe, clean, and functional.

Located in metropolitan Northwest Indiana, IU Northwest is approximately 30 miles southeast of Chicago and 10 miles from Indiana Dunes National Park, serving around 3,500 degree-seeking students and 1,800 dual credit students. It is recognized as a minority and Hispanic-serving institution.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, ramps, stairs, restrooms, and windows using appropriate cleaning methods and supplies.
• Dust furniture, walls, and equipment; steam clean carpets; strip and polish floors.
• Clear sidewalks and driveways, shovel snow as needed.
• Secure buildings, report abnormalities, and assist with repairs and security concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including snow removal.

Minimum Requirements

Education: High school knowledge or equivalent.

Work Experience: At least 6 months custodial experience in an educational or public environment.

Location: IU Northwest Campus, Gary, Indiana.

Salary: $15.00/hour.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM Central Time.
