WebstaurantStore in Hagerstown, MD is seeking a Custodian for the brand-new distribution center. This full-time role reports to Facilities leadership and supports cleaning across the warehouse, restrooms, break rooms, and offices. The position emphasizes safety, efficiency, teamwork, and adaptability on a fast-paced site.

Starting wage is $20.00/hour with opportunities to grow within a large, 1.2M sq. ft. automated facility.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of relevant distribution/warehouse experience preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to maintain cleanliness throughout the warehouse.
Clean restrooms, break rooms, and office areas regularly.
Wipe down surfaces and equipment to maintain a dust-free environment.
Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables according to local protocols.
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Report safety hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance requests to leadership.
Monitor and replenish inventory levels of cleaning supplies.
Flex into other positions and departments to support operations.

We are looking for a Custodian to join our brand-new Hagerstown, MD Distribution Center! This role reports to the Facilities and/or Assistant Facilities Manager and works closely with the Operations Team to ensure quick response to cleaning needs, spills, and break room or restroom maintenance.

Our Custodians are valued members of the facilities team, playing a key role in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to ensure cleanliness throughout the warehouse.
Clean restrooms, break rooms, and office areas regularly.
Wipe down surfaces and equipment to maintain a dust-free environment
Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables according to local protocols and expectations
Maintain waste bins and recycling receptacles, ensuring timely removal and replacement
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Report any safety hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance requests to leadership
Monitor and replenish inventory levels of cleaning supplies
Organize and store cleaning equipment and materials in designated areas
Assist with setup and cleanup for warehouse events or meetings
Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership.
Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
Abide by all company and warehouse policies
Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation

Physical Requirements

Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required

Education

High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
