Job summary

Washington State University is seeking a Custodian 3 in Auxiliary Facilities Services to maintain cleanliness and appearance of assigned facilities in Pullman. Under supervision, you will lead custodians, train staff, and support daily operations while ensuring standards are met.

The role offers full-time, permanent employment with an established salary range, and opportunities to contribute to interviewing, training, and scheduling activities within the department.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to perform required work and one year of housekeeping, janitorial, general or building maintenance, or custodial work; or one year of lead experience.
• Must have, or obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet applicable standards.
• Position Sponsorship Eligibility: Not eligible for work visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to Custodians, training, instructing, and assisting team members.
• Assist supervisor with daily operations and department needs.
• Participate in interviewing and recommending candidates for hire; conduct training; assign and schedule work; respond to leave requests; contribute to performance evaluations; and recommend corrective actions.
