Job summary

Saint Mary's College is seeking a diligent Custodian to maintain cleanliness across campus buildings. The role involves mopping, floor stripping/finishing, ladder work, pest control, and moving furniture or classroom materials to support a safe, welcoming environment.

Requirements include the ability to climb ladders, lift heavy objects (50–75 pounds), operate heavy cleaning equipment, and work well with others. Work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Clean campus buildings including mopping and floor finishing.
• Perform ladder-based cleaning tasks and operate cleaning equipment as required.
• Conduct pest control to address rodent and pest issues.
• Move furniture and classroom materials as needed to support space utilization.

The Custodian is responsible for cleaning campus buildings including: mopping, stripping and/or finishing floors, cleaning areas requiring use of ladder, operating heavy cleaning equipment, rodent and pest control and moving furniture or classroom building materials

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to climb ladders to reach high places including replacing ceiling light bulbs, move heavy furniture, lift heavy boxes (50 – 75 pounds), operate heavy cleaning equipment, and ability to mop extensive area.
• Possess organizational skills and ability to work well with others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior related job experience (1 – 2 years).
• Training or prior experience in use of cleaning equipment and job functions.
