Pierce College District is seeking a Custodian 1 to perform custodial and general maintenance tasks across multiple campus facilities. The role reports to the Custodial Services Manager and requires regular attendance.

The Custodian 1 works under general supervision and performs a variety of routine custodial and general maintenance functions to maintain the cleanliness, care, use, and accessibility of college facilities. This position reports to the Custodial Services Manager, who assigns work verbally and in writing, depending on the task. Regular and consistent attendance is required for this position.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) classified, overtime-eligible position with Pierce College District. This position is permanent after serving a 6-month probationary period. The primary work location will be at Pierce College, Fort Steilacoom campus. Occasional travel to Pierce College campuses or sites may occur. This position may be subject to reassignment between campuses or sites.
The salary range for this position is $43,836.00 - $49,296.00 annually, depending on qualifications, with periodic increments up to $50,412.00 annually.

This position requires working primarily indoors in an open office environment, which requires visual concentration on detail, dexterity, and precision. The role is subject to frequent noise and interruptions. The custodian performs duties both indoors and outdoors, including snow and ice removal. The job involves exposure to risks such as mixing cleaning chemicals, working at heights using ladders, and potential contact with bloodborne pathogens. Safety requirements include the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintaining current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
