Number of Positions: 3

Salary: $32,018 - $43,521, commensurate with experience, Shift differential will be applied

Locations: Saratoga/Wilton

Work Hours: Monday - Friday ; 3pm - 11pm

This work involves cleaning and maintenance of school buildings or assigned sections thereof. In addition to routine cleaning activities, the work includes semi-skilled repair and maintenance tasks and various ground-keeping activities. General supervision is received from a designated senior or higher level custodial employee. Immediate supervision may be exercised over the work of subordinate cleaning and maintenance.

  • Sweeps, mops and waxes floors, washes walls, windows and blackboards, cleans erasers, dusts and performs other cleaning duties;

  • Cleans and mops lavatories and locker rooms;

  • Removes snow and ice from walks, steps and driveways;

  • Replaces light bulbs, towels, soap and other supplies;

  • Empties waste baskets and disposes of rubbish;

  • May mow lawns, trim shrubs, rake leaves and perform other ground-keeping tasks as assigned;

  • Makes minor repairs to furniture, electrical fixtures, windows and window shades, locks, faucets and other equipment;

  • Receives, moves and stores incoming school supplies;

  • Polishes and refinishes furniture;

  • Turns off lights and locks doors;

  • Performs a variety of errands and related custodial tasks.
