Job summary

The DM Burr Group is hiring a Full Time Custodian for the 2nd shift in the Mancelona School District, Monday through Friday, 2:30pm to 11:00pm. Wage is $16.00/hour with a $200 new hire bonus after 90 days.

DailyPay is available, and benefits include health, disability, life, 401(k), PTO and holidays. Primary responsibilities include cleaning, operating floor scrubbers, buffers and vacuums, trash removal, stain removal, and maintaining restrooms and break rooms.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or technical school certification.
• Must be self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 0-6 months custodial/janitorial experience with cleaning equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
• Follow basic verbal and written instructions; pay attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial cleaners and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls and floors with chemicals.
• Clean furniture, window sills, walls, dust/ wash ceilings, polish fixtures.
• Move cabinets and equipment to access areas; clean stock restrooms and break rooms.
• Record and document cleaning functions on logs; report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance and report major safety items for repair.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.
