Job summary

University of South Carolina Upstate is seeking a Custodian to perform custodial and housekeeping duties across campus, with weekend and evening hours involved. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience.

The position offers a 40-hour work week with a second shift (4:00 pm – 12:30 am) and a salary in the USC market range, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include health, life insurance, paid leave, and retirement programs.

Qualifications

Requires 1+ years of related custodial experience.
Must be able to follow routine oral and written instructions.
Demonstrates knowledge of OSHA standards and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Perform general cleaning for restrooms, classrooms, lobbies and common areas.
Maintain floors by polishing, buffing, stripping and sealing.
Transports cleaning supplies and tools between facilities and washes/building areas.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and report building deficiencies via the work management system.

Performs custodial and housekeeping duties on USC Upstate campus for assigned buildings, specified areas, having knowledge of all buildings to be able to perform work in any building as needed or on a rotational building schedule with flexibility to work weekends and any shift.
