Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA is seeking a part-time Custodian for the 1st shift to maintain classrooms, residence halls, and other facilities. The role reports to the Custodial 1st Shift Supervisor and runs Tue–Sat, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., for 20 hours per week, with a 52-week employment cycle.

The Custodian position is intended to support the FacilitiesManagement mission of providing well maintained classrooms,residence halls, and other facilities related to an institution ofhigher education. This position is responsible for the cleanlinessof all academic, administration and all other buildings asassigned. This position performs in an institutional/residentialsetting that requires planning for a “least-disruptive” approach towork, an appreciation of the unique surroundings. The seven hundredplus acres of Mount Holyoke must always reflect the historic andiconic beauty of our Ivy League institution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• General cleaning tasks at campus buildings.

Licenses & Certifications:

• High school or equivalent.

Working Conditions:

• Employee handles a range of hazardous materials, includingcleaning chemicals and supplies.
• May have contact with chemicals and fumes, wet or humidconditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme weather related toheat or cold.
• Noise level in some work environments can occasionally beloud.

Physical Demands:

• Balancing, carrying, pulling/pushing, grasping, repetitivemovement, standing, bending, reaching, sitting, twisting andlifting.
• Ability to physically perform manual tasks, climb stairs, lift,climb ladders, and bend.
• Ability to lift (50) pounds unassisted, able to stoop or standfor prolonged periods of time.

Hiring Range: $20.94 - $23.33 / hour
