Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District is seeking a Custodian to maintain school facilities to district standards. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, operating cleaning equipment, and working 10:00-6:30 pm, Monday through Friday, 40 hours weekly.

The position is hourly, non-exempt, with 261 workdays per year and reporting to the Director of Building Operations. A valid AZ driver’s license and background clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Arizona driver's license.
• Satisfactory criminal background check.
• Must pass a background clearance and fingerprint clearance card.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move objects.
• Able to operate cleaning machinery and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Dust mop, sweep, and wet mop hard surface floors.
• Vacuum clean rugs and carpets.
• Scrub and clean bathroom fixtures and keep supplied.
• Clean walls, doors, windows, and woodwork.
• Clean elevators and stairwells.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• Notify site lead of equipment or facilities needing repairs.
• Dust, clean, and polish furniture and countertops.
• Be flexible and perform other duties as assigned.

JOB GOAL

To see that all common spaces, and athletic facilities on our school sites are cleaned to the District standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid Arizona driver's license
• Satisfactory criminal background check
• Position requires the following physical demands: be able to lift up to 50 lbs, be able to exert 50 -60 lbs of force frequently, push, pull or otherwise move objects
• Ability to walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop or kneel
• Working may involve a late night shift until about 11 pm during the school year.
• Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment as well as floor cleaning equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relations with janitorial site lead and fellow workers.
• Must pass a background clearance
• Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

COMPENSATION: Per QCUSD salary schedule for applicable position
