Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District is seeking a Security Guard at Eastmark High School to help provide safety for students, staff and property. You will monitor buildings, patrol grounds, and respond per the district’s security protocols.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, good communication skills, and the ability to stand and patrol for long periods. This is a full-time, on-site role with a focus on campus safety and orderly supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; college classes in criminal justice preferred.
• Caring human relations skills; good written communications.
• Experience with the public and youth.
• Neat appearance and good physical condition; able to stand for long periods.
• Arizona laws pertaining to schools and youth preferred.
• Experience in law enforcement preferred.
• Knowledge of drugs and alcohol and their detection and effects.
• Must pass a background clearance.
• Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Patrols district buildings and grounds to prevent substance abuse, fighting, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
• Learns names of individual students to assist with campus control.
• Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning; routes or detains them; calls police per emergency action plan.
• Reports unusual conditions or malfunctioning of systems.
• Patrols school grounds to detect and correct unauthorized and improperly parked vehicles.
• Makes written reports of security violations.
• Directs and controls vehicle traffic on district property.
• Assists staff with student conduct.
• Serves as witness in disciplinary proceedings or court cases when required.
• Performs other job-related duties to advance district priorities.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Patrols district buildings and grounds to prevent substance abuse, fighting, theft, vandalism and illegal entry and exit.
• Learns names of individual students in order to assist with campus control.
• Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning; routes or detains them; calls police for assistance according to emergency action plan.
• Reports any unusual conditions or malfunctioning of heating, plumbing or electrical systems.
• Patrols school grounds to detect and require correction of unauthorized and improperly parked vehicles.
• Makes written reports of security violations.
• Directs and controls vehicle traffic on district property when necessary.
• Assists staff with student conduct.
• Serves as witness in a disciplinary due process hearing or court case as required.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
