Job summary

Authentic Brands Group in New York is seeking a diligent Custodian to maintain a clean, safe corporate office environment across our workspaces. You will perform daily cleaning, sanitation, and light maintenance to meet company standards and welcome employees and visitors.

The role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience in commercial custodial settings is preferred; OSHA safety practices and proper chemical handling

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to three years of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial or corporate office environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safe chemical handling.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize offices, conference rooms, lobbies, and other areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and furniture.
• Empty trash and recycling per building procedures.
• Restock restroom and kitchen supplies.
• Clean windows and interior glass surfaces.
• Operate custodial equipment such as vacuums and floor scrubbers.
• Report maintenance issues to Facilities Manager.
• Assist with meeting room setup and breakdown.
• Respond to spills, emergencies, and special cleaning requests.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Follow OSHA regulations and safety policies.
• Support seasonal or special projects including deep cleaning.

What You’ll Do

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment throughout a corporate office building. This role performs daily cleaning, sanitation, and light maintenance duties to ensure the facility meets company standards and provides a welcoming environment for employees, clients, and visitors. The Custodian must be dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness while following all applicable safety procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize offices, conference rooms, lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste according to building procedures.
• Restock restroom and kitchen supplies, including soap, paper products, and cleaning materials.
• Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, and other interior glass surfaces.
• Operate custodial equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, and carpet extractors.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to the Facilities Manager.
• Assist with meeting room setup and breakdown as needed.
• Respond promptly to spills, emergencies, and special cleaning requests.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
• Follow OSHA regulations, building safety policies, and proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Support seasonal or special projects, including deep cleaning and floor care.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach overhead.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Push or pull carts and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.

Primary Location Hourly Range

$20-$25/hour
