Job Title: Custodian at Marquette University

Join us to apply for the Custodian role at Marquette University.

Job Requirements:

1. Provide collection and disposal services for wastepaper, trash, debris, and recyclable materials.
2. Vacuum carpeting, dry sweep, dust mop, and damp mop hard surface floors.
3. Clean and sanitize washroom/shower fixtures.
4. Dust, damp wipe, wash, and polish furniture and fixtures, using ladders up to 6 feet tall and scaffolds when necessary.
5. Use scrubbers, buffing, and shampooing equipment.
6. Make beds and set up occupant rooms.
7. Move furniture when required.
8. Clean kitchen floors according to Health Department standards.
9. Shovel snow and spread ice-melting compounds.

Other Experience and Qualifications:

• Ability to demonstrate reading and writing comprehension and competency skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 6 months of cleaning experience.
• Ability to operate manual and automatic scrubbers, buffers, and shampooing equipment.

For Custodian III positions, additional requirements include:

• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to lead custodians in assigned tasks.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Previous cleaning experience of at least one year in an academic or healthcare environment is preferred.
