Job summary

Valencia College is seeking a Custodian to maintain a safe and clean environment across the Osceola Campus facilities in Kissimmee, FL. The role requires multitasking and ability to operate cleaning equipment, including pressure washing and carpet/floor cleaning.

This fully on-site position offers state medical and dental benefits, paid time off, and opportunities for educational and professional development. Evening shift 5:00pm–11:00pm with potential weekend/holiday hours.

Qualifications

Must be able to read, write, understand and follow directions.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to lift objects (approximately 15-44 lbs.)
Knowledge of cleaning fluids, chemicals, cleaning tools, and equipment such as scrubbing and waxing machines.

Responsibilities

Sweeps, dust mops, mops, scrubs, and waxes floors using appropriate cleaning and waxing equipment as required.
Cleans rest rooms including floors, sinks, urinals, commodes, and mirrors; polishes hardware, refills dispensers.
Empties wastebaskets and trash receptacles.
Cleans chalkboards, erasers, chalk troughs, and replenishes chalk.
Closes windows, turns off lights, and locks assigned areas.
Dusts furniture and window sills.
Washes windows and polishing fountains and equipment.
Cleans debris from area adjacent to buildings; scrubs corridors and walkways.
Cleans walls, ceilings, and light fixtures; requests supplies from supervisor.
Cleans air conditioning grills.
Relocates furniture, books, etc.
Performs other related duties.

Our Custodial Services team is looking for a dedicated Custodianto help us maintain a safe and clean environment across our Osceola Campus facilities. We’re looking for individuals who can multitask, efficiently operate cleaning equipment (including pressure washing and carpet/floor cleaning). Excellent communication skills are required to understand and adhere to directions. You’ll play a vital role in our mission to provide comfortable environment in which our students, faculty and staff can accomplish their educational and professional goals.

Essential Job Functions

10. Cleans air conditioning supply and return air grills.
11. Assists in relocating furniture, books, etc.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

This job primarily operates throughout the College’s worksites and grounds.
