Description

The custodian will uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation of the college campus. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will play a crucial role in creating a clean and welcoming environment for our employees, students, and visitors.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform general cleaning and sanitizing tasks throughout assigned buildings.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly supply closet and ensure supplies are stocked.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, classrooms, offices, living spaces, and common areas.
  • Perform restorative floor work such as vacuuming, mopping, buffing, stripping, and waxing.
  • Pick up and empty trash containers.
  • Report safety or maintenance deficiencies to the lead custodian or facilities manager.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Employee Designation

This position has been designated as essential at Keuka College. In the event of significant incidents or major events, you may be required to be on-site to ensure operations continue smoothly.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Employment is contingent upon completion of a post‑offer background check in compliance with applicable laws.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods standing.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to operate tools or equipment used in routine cleaning.
