Job summary

The Salvation Army in Houston, TX is seeking a Full-Time hourly janitor to maintain cleanliness and perform a variety of cleaning duties on a daily basis.

You will handle facilities cleaning (90%) and basic maintenance (10%), with no formal education required and at least six months of related experience. The role includes benefits and requires the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

About this opportunity:

Provides a variety of cleaning duties and maintains the building to ensure the upkeep, neatness, and cleanliness of the same on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

What we are looking for:

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform the needed janitorial and maintenance work.Duties are performed standing and requires squatting, climbing, bending and walking. Any of the preceding duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting.Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.).

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to dirt, dust, disagreeable sights and/or odors, and various temperatures.
