Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform hazardous waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of the assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Work collaboratively with other employees as part of a team
• Perform repetitive tasks as required
• Maintain a clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Communicate professionally with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers
• Fill in during staff shortages
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems and the environment

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months of training or experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid driver’s license may be required; completed safety and task training certification required; forklift certification may be required
• Bilingual a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share knowledge with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation & Shift

Wednesday – Saturday, 5:00 pm – 4:00 am
$15.00 – $16.00 per hour
