Job summary

Ziegler CAT is hiring a full-time Custodian for our Power Systems Industrial Warehouse facility. The role supports cleanliness across shop, warehouse, and parts areas, working with warehouse personnel and technicians to maintain a safe, organized environment.

Responsibilities include trash removal, pallet management, dock area upkeep, tool crib cleanliness, and forklift operation. The pay range is $20.15–$24.17 hourly with benefits such as health insurance, PTO, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years related experience.
• Ability to follow written and verbal safety procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Ziegler CAT has an opening for a full-time Custodian to support our Power Systems Industrial Warehouse facility. This person will be responsible for the general cleanliness, and overall organization of the shop, warehouse, and parts area. This person will be working alongside our warehouse personnel and technicians to help support their needs, as well as help provide a safe and clean work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Remove trash from the facility and maintain receptacles daily

• Move empty pallets and cardboard to the appropriate bins outside

• Provide custodial assistance to other departments as requested

• Maintain a clean and orderly loading dock area

• Keep will-call areas clean and organized

• Maintain and clean shop, warehouse, and parts areas

• Clean and maintain entry and exit door areas

• Clean and maintain equipment as assigned

• Clean up spills, which may include hazardous materials like battery acid and oil

• Maintains wash bay area and walls daily

• Assist with tool crib organization and cleanliness

• Safely operate the forklift

• Work in a cooperative manner with team and superiors

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED required

• 2+ years related experience

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for the purpose of safety procedures

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Basic computer skills

• Able to work independently

• Able to operate forklift

• Able to operate required equipment safely (forklifts, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning equipment)

• Minor mechanical ability

• Personal Attributes: Commitment/Dependability, Planning and Organization, Attention to Detail, Efficiency

• This role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirement

Minimum Physical Requirements:

• Push/pull up to 50 lbs
• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs
• Lift bulky objects
• Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching.
• Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.

The pay range for this position is

$20.15 to $24.17

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant's location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:
