Job summary

Palacios Marine & Industrial, Inc. is seeking dependable custodians to maintain cleanliness of production facilities, offices, and critical spaces in an industrial environment.

This role requires physical labor, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to operate floor-cleaning equipment. Training and background checks are required; a valid ID or driver’s license is needed to access sites in Louisiana.

Qualifications

• Must pass all company and customer required training programs and annual requalification requirements.
• Must pass background, drug testing, and alcohol testing.
• Valid driver's license or valid ID.

Responsibilities

• Interface with supervisors and site management on daily operational needs.
• Follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures.
• Dust and damp mop floors in production areas around operating equipment.
• Clean and wipe down piping, equipment, pump motors, vents, and other facility assets according to site guidelines.
• Operate industrial floor-cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers.
• Assist with floor scrubbing, recoating projects, and carpet care cleaning as needed.
• Change drain socks according to site procedures.
• Restock cleaning and facility supplies.
• Remove trash, oil pads, and other waste materials.
• Clean satellite electrical rooms, HVAC rooms, diesel generator rooms, and other critical facility areas.
• Change HEPA filters and vacuum filters when required.
• Provide fire-watch and decontamination assistance as requested.
• Perform bird biohazard clean-up duties when necessary.
• Support general cleaning of production, office, and elevated building areas.
• Assist with client requests in radiological and non-radiological work environments when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.

We are seeking dependable, safety-focused Custodians to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of production facilities, office areas, and critical operational spaces. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in industrial environments, can perform physically demanding duties, and is committed to following all site safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must successfully pass all company and customer-required training programs and annual requalification requirements.
• Must be able to pass background, drug testing, and alcohol testing.
• Valid driver's license or Valid ID
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to bend, walk, stand, and perform physical labor throughout the work shift.
• Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions and prolonged periods of heat.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous custodial, janitorial, industrial cleaning, or facility maintenance experience.
• Experience operating floor scrubbers or other industrial cleaning equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Continuous standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout the shift.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions.
• Ability to work around industrial equipment and in active production environments.
